(More customer reviews)I purchased this vacuum after lugging around a cheap Hoover that only had suction on the "pull back" portion of vacuuming. This Sanitaire is very portable and easy to use. The cleaing path is small, which is fine for our small house. I like the simpleness of this model. I am 5'2" and can appreciate a lightweight vacuum. My husband is 6'2" and thinks it lacks substance. When you fold the handle down there is a carrying handle which is great for lifting the vacuum to reach ceiling fans, etc. Bags are only sold through online stores...I found some for 22.00 for 15 bags, including shipping. (bags=1.68 for 3 plus A LOT for shipping) It was cheaper to buy in bulk. Glad I bought this vacuum, for what I wanted, it is enough.

(More customer reviews)This thing rocks! Works better than the expensive name brands. As far as bags are concerned, we use generics. We bought a ton at Cabela's on clearance and they work great. Your best bet would probably be to buy the roll type of bags and cut to fit. It will seal one end in a heartbeat and then you have a bag! We picked it up for 20 bucks at tuesday morning... I only looked here to see if they were as cheap so that we have a backup! I don't expect it to last forever. Our more expensive Foodsaver brand died. That's how we ended up with the George Foreman and it is great for what it is! I would definitely recommend it for the money. I saw the bad review before and thought this would be helpful. Happy sealing and bulk buying!!!

(More customer reviews)This is not the first time I have ordered an after-market HEPA filter for my Eureka Whirlwind Big Cup, and not the first time that it hasn't fit correctly. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Eureka makes any themselves anymore, so owners are kind of stuck until they upgrade to a new vac.
The big problem with this is that it just doesn't twist in very well, and sometimes will drop down into the dust cup while vacuuming. Then you have to fish around in that muck and put it back in and hope it sticks. The fact that it doesn't lock in well leaves me wondering if it is even performing its job correctly, and if it really is a HEPA filter.
I've double and triple-checked all of the model number info, so I know it's the filter and not me. ;o)

Each 16-1/2" x 13" x 5-3/4" (41.9 cm x 33 cm x 14.6 cm) faux canvas bag is sure to ruffle the feathers of do-gooders with hybrid cars."
You had me with your first line. Unfortunately your "faux canvas" bags invariably developed holes in them after a single use! I had to return them all for refunds.
Now Accoutrements would probably argue that their shopping bags are no more cheaply made than the cheapest reusable shopping bags out there, but I would counter that those are intended for different consumers.
Some are flimsy marketing giveaways produced by "evil" corporations attempting to go green on the cheap so that if they fall apart after a single shopping trip, what have they cost you?
Others are intended to take advantage of the sort of person who can shell out good money for a reusable shopping bag, have to throw it away and buy another after a single use, and still feel morally and intellectually superior to Neanderthals who schlep their groceries home in plastic bags, which they probably get several uses out of. (Disposable plastic shopping bags make good wastebasket liners and stinky diaper wrappers.)
THESE reusable shopping bags are intended for cynics and the recalcitrant who are only willing to go green if they can be smartasses about it, and these sorts of people expect a reusable shopping bag to be, you know, REUSABLE!
C'mon, Accoutrements, you have a brilliant concept here (and here and here and here). All you have to do is to indelibly print these clever slogans onto tough canvas bags with which we can annoy humorless greenies for years maybe decades to come, and we will GLADLY pay 2 or 3 times as much!
And if in the process we actually end up saving the planet by annoying humorless greenies?
I guess I could live with that.

Panasonic MC-CG985 "OptiFlow" Full Size Canister Vacuum Cleaner, Edge Green finish Review

(More customer reviews)I would like to start by saying I have a bit of a vacuum obsession. I have a very bad back and design is important to me. I also want excellent cleaning performance, low emissions(I have severe allergies), quality (hate how most vacuums these days have cheap plastic that it very brittle.) Those are the things I was looking for in this vacuum and got so much more. My current vacuum is a Kenmore canister (similar design and I have found Panasonic has made Kenmore vacuum's for decades but recently Kenmore has made design changes, are using cheaper plastics and other parts to increase profit.) My Kenmore is 3 years old and cost the same price as the Panasonic. The designs are very similar but this Panasonic is better in every way with more features. The plastic it very high quality and the door for the attachments locks closed like a car glove box. The motor is very quite compared to the Kenmore and any other vacuum I have owned (7 vacuums in 15 years.) The hose is longer then any other vacuum I have owned and is made of a thick, durable material. It also swivels 360 degrees so no more twisted hose. The power controls are on the handle at the end of the hose as opposed to being on the body of the vacuum. There are 3 speed setting for the motor but the beater brush stays at full speed (great for throw rugs) as well as a manual adjustable suction control. All 3 motor speeds will work with the beater brush on or off depending on your need. The wand telescopes in approximately 1 inch increments which makes it easy to find the perfect height no matter how tall or short he user is. The cord that runs down the wand is completely covered so no cord getting hung when cleaning under couches or beds. Its even designed so that the attachments make full contact with the floor when the handle is at an angle (horizontal) so you can get under tight spaces without the handle getting in the way (most vacuums require the handle be vertical for best contact of the swivel attachments to the floor.) It comes with a bare floor attachment, narrow end for nooks and crannies, a horse hair dusting brush that converts into a hard furniture cleaning device (the horse hair bristles snap off.) It also comes with a mini power head (has a motor as opposed to relying on suction to turn the brush) that works great on furniture. The chord is very long and retracts by pressing a lever with your foot (no bending.) The power head/beater brush has 4 height setting that you adjust with you foot (no bending for others with bad backs.) It has LED lights (there is also the standard headlight) that sense when there is still dirt and turn from red to green when the dirt is gone. It even has a foot lever on the power head/beater brush to release the wand for attachment cleaning (once again, no bending if you have a bad back.) There is an overload breaker button in case something gets hung in the beater brush at which time power to the beater brush will be cut to avoid damage or burning up the belt. There is also a light that indicates when the bag is full and needs to be changed. There is a HEPA filter at the exhaust to catch any dust before it gets into the air. Its very easy to reach the filter and change it when needed. The bag is in a basket that the bag sits in so you don't have to touch the dirty bag possibly causing dirt to escape. There is a 2 year full parts and labor warranty and that is extended to 5 years for the motor. The canister body and the power head roll very easily and don't require much effort or pulling. The wheels are rubber and don't scratch wood floors. The exterior of the power head/beater brush, and the canister body have rubber wrapped around to prevent damage to walls or furniture. The first time I used the vacuum I used my Dyson and Kenmore to clean a high traffic rug. I then used my new Panasonic and looked in the bag. I was shocked how much dirt the other two vacuums left behind. So it is an excellent cleaner and has very strong suction. Sorry for such a long and detailed review but I am rarely so impressed by a product. If your looking for an excellent cleaning yet delicate enough to use on curtains when adjusted to do so, quite, well designed, well built with quality materials, easy to use, and easy on your back, this vacuum will exceed your expectations. So upon realizing that I need fresh salads for optimal health, I decided to explore options for preserving them. After examining various 'vacuum seal' options, the Lettuce Keeper jumped out as the most logical looking solution. Vegetables, just like plants in the ground, need some air circulation, and the Lettuce Keeper system has all the aspects of vegetable preservation covered. It even has a lower tray from which water evaporates into the storage chamber, which is ventilated. Evaporation and ventilation are applied differentially to various vegetables and fruits.
My experience with the Lettuce Keeper confirms my initial impression of it. It preserves salads far longer than I've seen with any other storage medium I've used. After a week contents show no sign of spoilage or aging. I've not tried any 'vacuum seal' containers, so I can't compare this to that, but I can say this works very well! As per the initial critical review here, the instructions say to place the lid and all on a dishwasher's top rack. I couldn't be happier with this device; and thanks to it, I can be healthier too!

Compared to my Dirtdevil Vision Turbo or Sears Wet and Dry vac(I know that they are different categories of machines)
this thing have only the half of the suction power.
When I cleaned the stairs with this machine, I have to remove cobweb and other stuff out of the vacuum tube because of the
weak suction.
It is light OK actually very light like plastic light.
And you cannot reuse the filter bag. You can use it only once. That means more money.
It is quiet. And backpack vacuum is much easier to use than upright or canister type.

We also use the bags when camping, it helps in clean up. They aren't very big so if you are deep frying anything it will not hold all the oils from that. For the type of cooking I do using limited oils they work wonderfully.
