Vacuum cleaners with spinning brushes (I have a very good HEPA I used to use for wall-to-wall carpeting) are not good for fine rugs as they destroy them. Therefore you need to use a vacuum cleaner with good suction that can remove the dirt without mechanically beating the fine yarn. Because this vacuum is quite powerful, especially for its size, it works great at cleaning fine rugs. Also, because you can vary the power on the handle, you can have great control over the cleaning process.
I have bought one of these vacuum cleaners for myself and one for my parents who are also very happy. They are in their late 70s and have no problem using it, though they do use the Cyclonic Dirt Separator as they find it too heavy. However, even without the Separator, they find vacuum cleaner to work fantastically.
I don't think you can get a better vacuum cleaner for the price.
