(More customer reviews)I have come to realize that just 'because you did, does not mean that you can do the same, today'. I used to believe that Germans make good technical products. Think again. The rest of the world has caught-up and in most cases doing better. Miele is such a case. The 'snob' inside me made me buy a Miele cooktop and a ventilation hood at almost six times the price of a US made Bosch or an Italian made Whirlpool for IKEA. Guess what! the other products are better and inexpensive to maintain. If one takes apart a Miele ventilation hood it is just a piece of 'junk' and bad design. Miele still uses a fluorescent light fixture with a starter like in the 50's! The circuit board is exposed to the grease laden ventilation air, One would need screw drivers, etc., to clean the chamber,The charcoal filter or the auxiliary light which had to be purchased separately each costs as much as an IKEA Whirlpool ventilation hood complete,....Need I say more? Try resolving an issue with their Customer Service! Do not get the 'snob' inside you control your wallet. You will be poorer!

Miele's built-in ventilation hoods are a perfect solution to discreetly mount an extractor against a wall, under the upper cabinet. This option is perfect if space is a premium or if the ventilation hood is not wanted as an overly ornamental piece in the kitchen. The quality of Miele hoods, of course, goes beyond appearance. Unique double-sided blowers make for excellent air extraction, optimizing a careful balance between air removal and energy efficiency. This Miele-made dual blower system also builds longevity right into the design. Despite the high-efficient air extraction, the hoods are comfortably quiet. A special acoustic package works in conjunction with the latest in motor technology to ensure the performance is not compromised. Easy operation is possible using Miele-made electronics - Novotronics. For proper maintenance there is an indicator light that alerts you when the metal grease filters need to be cleaned or when the charcoal filter has to be replaced. To operate, easy to use, push button controls allow you to set the hood on a timer, switching the unit off, automatically, 5 or 15 minutes after you walk away. Also, you have the ability to adjust the feature lighting to suit your environment. Effective, convenient and attractive, Miele's built-in ventilation models fit neatly into a wall cabinet, flush and unobtrusive.
