(More customer reviews)Apparently you aren't allowed to vacuum up the slightest bit of snow that you track into your house on your boots. None of the mieles were designed for this task. What? My old vacuum can do that. We take our shoes off at the door, so there isn't a ton of snow to deal with. We usually vacuum up the bit of snow so that we don't track it all through the house. It doesn't say it anywhere in the manual. So, after buying it and then it snows two days later, I called the local dealer where we bought it because I couldn't find an answer in the Miele users' manual. They said that we can't vacuum even the tiniest bit of snow. They are an "authorized dealer" but they won't give us our money back. We just bought it two days ago! Miele has a 30 day money back guarantee on their website, but the dealer said that they can't do that. They will only offer store credit, but none of the Miele vacuums will do this task (seems like a pretty basic thing in a vacuum). I thought an "authorized dealer" would extend the same policies that Miele does. So, I called Miele themselves. They are going to have the sales rep talk to the store manager. We'll see what happens.

My old vacuum is a Karcher which they don't sell in the States anymore. It is German and very good quality. It is just more difficult to use. We just adopted a dog, so we decided to get an easier to use vacuum that reviewed as being the same good quality that we are used to, but if the Miele can't vacuum up the little amount of snow that the dog tracks in, how good could it be.

It does work well for other tasks. However, when at the store the salesperson said that it can vacuum anything a normal house can throw at it. So, is a little bit of snow not normal?
Hopefully, this will be resolved. I don't want a vacuum that I can only use in a dry summer in Colorado. I wish that Karcher still sold here and that their new ones were easier to use.
