(More customer reviews)Though my Sweeper lasted a bit longer than Alans....the same thing happened to me. Burnt plastic smell, a pile of shavings when the bottom plate was removed and an ate up Brush Roller. I will replace the Roller myseld for about $23.10 and give it another shot as besides this problem the Vacuum does a great job. We have a very large home and the ease of use of this Vacuum is great. Wish the cord was a little longer though. Overall an OK product but expect problems with the Brush Roller. Inspect it periodically and remove any debris wrapped around it.
