(More customer reviews)This is a great vacuum, and far exceeded my expectations. I had been searching around for a canister vacuum that was rated to work well on carpets and hardwood. Most of them apparently work better for hardwood, but this one works amazingly well on carpets (powerful suction)- better than any vacuum I've ever owned in the past. I don't particularlly think its a good idea to use the powerhead on hardwood, but you have the option of shutting off the powerhead to prevent scratches, or purchase the additional floor tool- which is a great attachment and works wonders. I have also found the dusting attachment to be a great aid in quickly dusting wood furniture and other items. You can't go wrong with this price (currently $180-$200). This outbeats any other vacuum I have purchased commercially. I am more than satisfied with my purchase and would strongly recommend to others. I am writing this review because I was unable to find any other reviews online when I searched, so I hope this is helpful to others.
